Investigative journalist Chris Joyner exposed the International Keystone Klan’s attempts to hide their activism at Stone Mountain, Georgia in a recent piece for the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

Joyner quoted IREHR’s Leonard Zeskind as to white nationalist strategy regarding defense of Confederate flags and monuments.  A local hillside is carved with historic Confederate figures that Klansmen have gathered round for decades.  Stone Mountain has a majority black population, however, and a battle over the figures is underway.  The local NAACP, to its credit, is arguing for removal of the Klan figurines.

Joyner’s article regarding Stone Mountain is a must-read for IREHR.
